As I progress toward the relaunch date for Lethal Liz (in June), I’m going to be blogging on a variety of things regarding the Lethal Liz universe. One such column/entry will be “the History of Lethal Liz” where I’ll cover everything leading up to the launch day.
Today, I’m unveiling the first visual version of Liz and her pirates. The idea came around the time I was drawing a short lived webcomic called Far From It.
I wanted to do a comic that was a bit more long form and reached into my love of 1980s action sci-fi movies instead of just a comic strip, which I’ve always felt are slightly more hollow (I do, I’m not saying it’s true) and not as satisfying.
Below is the trailer. It features a great musical track from the band Jamiroquai called “Feels Good” and seemed to showcase the vibe I was looking for. At least for the moment…things have changed in the last 4 years, though.
